Security officials check the noodle shop on Tuesday after a bomb went off on Monday night. After the attacks, the girl was transferred to Songklanagarind Hospital in Hat Yai of Songkhla province. The boy underwent a major surgery last night and was still treated in the intensive care unit at Pattani Hospital. They were visited at the hospital on Tuesday by Lt Gen Piyawat Nakwanich, the 4th Army commander, and Veeranan Pengchan, the Pattani governor. Lt Gen Piyawat proceeded to examine the scene of the blast, which was caused by a home-made bomb in a steel box detonated remotely by a mobile phone.
